House Arrest I knew was a little more hard rock than most area cover bands, (along with Guns For Hire), which is why I wanted to see them. When they took the stage, I had noticed there where some new faces, the lead singer and one of the guitar players. Unfortunately I was unable to catch their names. Their web site hasn't been updated yet, http://www.housearrest.info. Their first set featured most of your normal standard's that most bands play. The first set featured:Wild Thing/Cocaine/Keep Your Hands To Yourself/Pink Cadillac/New Girl Now/Surrender/Smokin' In The Boys Room/Paranoid/Born To Be Wild. While they took a break I did have a chance to talk briefly to the bass player Matt Mudd. He told me that it gets better as the night goes on, meaning they rock a little harder with each set. This was pretty much the case with the second set. The second set featured: You Really Got Me/Ain't Talkin' About Love/ A Girl Like You/ Livin' After Midnight/ You've Got Another Thing Comin'/Are You Gonna Be My Girl/White Wedding/ and The Lumberjack. Had we not planned on seeing a couple more bands that night, I would've really enjoyed watching the band the whole night. I know there's some songs that they play that I really would've enjoyed. The guitar players sounded great, (needed a little more boost during solo's), Matts an excellent bass player, and the drummer never missed a beat. Very tight band. The new singer has very good range. I know i'll be seeing them again first chance I get. You can see House Arrest July 22nd at the Wagon Wheel, August 3rd at the Mississippi Valley Fair, August 12th at the Wagon Wheel, and August 26th at the Wagon Wheel. - John Pepping, Rock Beat July 11, 2005
