The Metrolites Aim High with Fall Release
What was once a geeky-cool novelty band has grown into a record, a
record label, a 'professional' sound and ethic, and the desire to do far
more than sell a few CDs in the Quad Cities... The result is a group
that throws together just about every film-genre sound ever invented,
from the spooky theremin warble of cheesy sci-fi to the
spaghetti-Western sounds of Ennio Morricone.

"The Metrolites are a unique-sounding rock/funk/lounge band whose
shows and sound are so unique that it cannot be described; it must
be witnessed."

"We believe an album isn't just a collection of various songs," Mr.
Morschhauser said. "The 15 songs in the new CD will have a very
cinematic feel, like a movie soundtrack." He added that songs on the new
CD have influences that include "rockabilly, lounge tunes, crime jazz,
spaghetti Westerns, and bongo-heavy spy tunes."

"The Metrolites are a great band! From the amazing drumming of Mr.
Josh Duffee, to the soulful saxaphone of "Nervous Neal" Smith, aka Dr.
Space Pants, they keep you interested and keep you smiling. All that
before even mentioning the gritty guitar playing of Kathleen Gallagher,
the multi-talented Scott Morschhauser, and last, but not least, the bass
playing of Devin Kirby-Hansen." - Terry Johnson

"Leave it to two former members of The Kabalas to create a band playing a
sound that's beyond eclectic. Xylophone player Scott Morschhauser and
sax-violinist 'Nervous Neal' Smith called in bandmates from various
other groups, threw the styles in a blender and came up with The
Metrolites, which makes its debut tonight at the Blackthorn Pub in Rock
Island." - David Burke

"Scott Morschhauser, lead singer for The Metrolites, is taking his
career in music to the next level. He's starting his own record label,
Go-Go Golem, to promote, distribute and sell his band's music. And while
the name of the new label is amusing and catchy, many people may not
know it also reflects Mr. Morschhauser's proud Jewish heritage." - Mark
McLaughlin

"Best local band: The Metrolites
I always knew the
Metrolites were the most creative, innovative, hard rocking lounge band,
but in October I found out they are also the most well-spoken,
experienced and down-to-earth musicians I've ever had the privilege of
meeting. Their debut CD, "In Spy-Fi" was released Oct. 12, and they
continue to gig around town." - Gabrielle Tee
