Quad Cities STOOPIFUNK

STOOPIFUNK

"The musicianship is top shelf, with Scott Whitehall on guitar usually leaving a roomful of slack-jawed onlookers saying to themselves - 'how can he do that?'" - Ellis Kell
Kindred Priest - bass
Wes Weeber - drums and vocals
Scott Whitehall - guitar and vocals

"When I put STOOPIFUNK together, I basically organized a setlist of the stupidest easiest songs I could think of. As we did gigs, yes people danced to 8675309 and so on but I felt they got as much enjoyment from Cult Of Personality or My Name Is Mud without dancing. (Although I think someone did dance to mud once - weird.) I'm applying that approach to new songs, ones I think would be just bitchin' to play... We do all kinds of stupid cheesy songs as well as some not so cheesy songs." - Wes 12/18/04

Press

Racers Edge July 2nd, 2005: Stoopifunk is a super-tight 3-man group that gloriously delivers rock and funk covers. Their versions of classic songs have a strong integrity that doesn't take away from the originals. Case in point, Stoopifunk's version of Stevie Wonder's Superstition (one of my favorite songs) is the best I have ever heard.

To truly appreciate their talent, you have to watch them. These guys make it look like the easiest, most natural thing in the world to do. Despite their easy-going appearance, Stoopifunk is strong. The vocals are solid. The drums and bass provide rhythmic patterns that are constant, driving, and seamless. The guitar solos are intricate and original.

Stoopifunk is truly fun to experience. These guys will make you groove. Don't have rhythm? Don't worry. Stoopifunk will help you find it. My recommendation is: go see stoopifunk - now. - Amy H.
